What do dental implants do? Dental implants can:
replace one or more teeth without affecting bordering teeth support a bridge and eliminate the need for a removable partial denture, and provide support for a denture, making it more secure and comfortable. What is treatment like?
This procedure is a team effort between you, Dr. Thompson, and Dr. Thompson's team of professionals.
You will first meet with Dr. Thompson to determine whether you are a suitable candidate for a dental implant, and, if so, where and how your implant should be placed. A treatment plan will then be created, tailored to meet your specific needs. An assessment will also be done to determine whether bone grafting is necessary. Generally, you can expect the entire treatment process to take from approximately 3 to 6 months. The first part of the treatment consists of placing the implant. After allowing sufficient time for the implant site to heal, your artificial tooth will be placed on top of the implant site. What can I expect after treatment?
Dental implants are to be treated just as you would your own natural teeth. Brushing,
flossing, and regular follow-up visits to monitor yoru implant, teeth and gums are absolutely necessary! | ||||||||||
